Afbeeldingsresultaat voor eden's curse

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Eden’s Cursewill release ‘Revisited’ – a two disc set including the debut album re-recorded in it’s entirety and a bonus DVD ‘Live In Glasgow – The Official Bootleg’, on 25th August 2017 worldwide via AFM Records.

Bassist Paul Logue explains: “The first album really was the foundation for all that was to follow and ever since Nikola joined the band we have been inundated with fan requests to re-record the older material and whilst it would be great fun, it would also be the same amount of work as recording a brand new album. In actual fact, that is one of the main reasons we recorded the live album, ‘Live With The Curse’, so the fans could hear Nikola’s voice on the older songs. However, it did not stop the flow of requests – in fact it made it worse! So, with this pivotal tenth anniversary coming up, we thought it would be a good idea to do it and AFM agreed. It’s turned out really great and given the older songs that little bit of freshness. It’s not to out-do what went before but to pay homage to a very important record in our career”.

The debut re-recordings were mixed by Pete Newdeck (Eden’s Curse, Tainted Nation, Grim Reaper) & Mastered by Harry Hess (Harem Scarem).

Coupled with the re-recorded debut album is the ‘Live In Glasgow – Official Bootleg DVD’ which is the ‘Live With The Curse’ live album recording show in it’s entirety. Filmed at The Classic Grand in Glasgow on 28th November 2014, the release mark’s the band first official live DVD release, albeit in a bootleg form. “The footage is absolutely excellent” states bassist Logue. “We did not intend to film a DVD, but the audio recording company brought two cameras along to capture the show and when we saw the results we were really surprised! We put out four videos on You Tube to promote the live album and the fans kept asking to see the full show on DVD. So, here it is! We’ve called it a ‘bootleg’ because it wasn’t recorded on 6 cameras, e.g one above the drummer and one on the keyboard player – like we would do for a proper DVD release. However, beyond that is looks and sounds great! We WILL do a DVD in the future but in the meantime this give our fans across the world something to enjoy time and time again and it makes ‘Revisited’ a very special package indeed” he adds.

‘Revisited’ is the ultimate package for Eden’s Curse fans old and new and a fantastic introduction to the band’s music. It’s a true celebration of the record that started it all, from the guys who carry the legacy forward. Over 60 mins of music and 100 mins of film make ‘Revisited’ a must have for all Eden’s Curse & Melodic Metal fans.

Bringing progressive metal into new dimensions especially for those who really enjoy full explosive adventure, Vancouver virtuosos OmnisighT recently gave the world their latest effort ‘Power of One’. The EP showcases their highly regarded musicianship and finely wrought song-craft.  As a whole ‘Power of One’ is a musical journey with a story concept to question the status quo and stand up against the oppression plus deceptions of the ruling class.

Teaming up with PureGrainAudio.com, OmnisighT are excited to share with fans, especially those who are drum aficionados, a new drum playthrough from drummer Chris Warunki for their EP’s title track ‘Power of One’.

‘Power of One’ is now streaming along with CD and digital download here.

Also available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major online retailers.

Drummer Chris Warunki comments on the release:

“The Power Of One
is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. Guitarists, bassists, drummers
and vocalists will all have something in-store for them here with this EP. We
are excited to get this out to the prog/rock/metal masses both musically and
lyrically. Speaking of lyrically, the album will come with a PDF booklet
exclusive to our Bandcamp supporters. We took a “more is more” approach with
this one and it will be a real challenge, but a welcome challenge; to take it to
the stage. We want to keep the musicianship in the music, that has been our
agenda since day one!”

If you’re in the Vancouver, BC area, you can catch the guys performing their local CD release show on March 11th at the Astoria with support from My Mother The Carjacker and Did You Die. Full event details can be found here.

Known for their formidable musicianship, virtuosic guitar solos and powerful songs, OmnisighT is masterfully blurring the lines between melodic hard rock and progressive metal. Beginning as collaboration between vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna and drummer Chris Warunki, they created the impressive ‘Path’ debut album in 2012. Their live line-up was consolidated with the addition of Dave Shannon on bass and guitarist Blake Rurik. ‘Path’ was followed up by the 2013 ‘Wave Particle’ EP.

Like all truly visionary musicians, band co-founder Raj was driven to create unique music. “I’ve been writing and singing songs since I was a little kid. We never seemed to hear heavy prog music that had shredding and hooks at the same time. It always seems you get one or the other….Having technical musicianship with good song-writing, shredding licks, and big hooks was the whole idea.”

Raj sums up OmnisighT’s music thusly: ‘Proggy, hooky, shredding, sad, and powerful!’

While Raj is justifiably proud of OmnisighT’s recorded output, he sees the importance of performance. ‘Live is where the band really shines! We put on a show, running around smiling and shredding. The band plays with more intensity…we often give the headliners a run for their money.’

Live report – British Hard Rock band UFO at The Spirit of ‘66.

Since its formation in 1969, British rock band UFO has been entertaining audiences around the world with infectious hard rock songs. Over twenty albums later, and with only a few original members left, UFO is still continuing to rock audiences and create new music. The band’s most successful period was in the seventies when Michael Schenker was part of UFO. But since several years Schenker has returned to his solo career and has been replaced by the equally talented string wizard Vinnie Moore.

The Spirit of ‘66 was fully packed when UFO took the stage around 20h30. The sound in this little venue was perfect

the band played all classics including “Only You Can Rock Me”, “Lights Out”, “This Kids” and of course “Doctor Doctor”. Piece de resistance however was “Rock Bottom” where a brilliant-as-ever Vinnie Moore showed off his talent and excellent technique. While Mogg took care of his voice, the rest of the band entertained us with an extra-long instrumental passage with Vinnie Moore in a leading role.

vnnie_peAlso the return of Paul Raymond and Andy Parker was a good decision. Raymond is often the quiet guy on stage but his rhythm guitar and keyboard playing was indispensable and more than just filling gaps. And the original grooves that skin beater Parker laid down was a joy of recognition. Still suffering from a liver disease bass legend and original member Pete Way had to leave UFO last year but has since been replaced by Barry Sparks, who already did the same with Ted Nugent, Dokken and Malmsteen. Together this unit played straight from the heart and sounded tighter and better than ever. The set list contained no surprises but the positive and enthusiastic reactions proved that the fans got what they came for, despite the sore voice of Mogg.

Great gig at the Spirit of 66.

Yngwie Malmsteen- Hard at work on new studio album.

On December 5, 2014, Mal of Adelaide, Australia’s 3D Radio conducted an interview with legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

Speaking about the recording process for his most recent albums, Yngwie said: “Well, it’s changed somewhat because… I’m actually calling you… I’m inside my recording studio now. And it’s in my house. And it’s not like a home studio; it’s a full-blown studio. And it’s in here. And I go in here and I see what happens. If I like what I hear, then I use it. If I don’t like it, I don’t use it. And in the past, I used to do demos. I would do demos, and rehearse it with the band and you rent the studio and go in and record it and so forth. It was a very different process because by the time it was actually recorded, it had gone through so many stages that the spontaneity was gone. Now, it’s here now; it’s here now. And it’s a lovely thing.”

He continued: “I’m in the studio making another album right now. Right now, as we apeak, I’m actually working on a new record. And it’s not, like, ‘Okay, now I’m gonna go in and do it.’ No. it’s just that when I’m inspired, I go in and I do something. If I’m not inspired, I don’t; I do other things. And that was another thing which, in the past, you had to do [things within a certain] time [period]; the clock was running, and it was terrible, [and] I didn’t like it. Now I just do [it] when I feel like it, and before I would have to do it when it was, like… Also, it was a cycle back then where you did a tour, an album, tour, album… Now I tour and I record and I tour and record… Mix and match… It doesn’t have a schedule like it used to.”

Asked if he is making the new album himself or if he’s got other people assisting him, Yngwie said: “Well, it depends how you mean. I write everything. I’m thinking about bringing… I have this guy that sang on my last live album [Nick Marino] — he’s also a keyboard player — I might bring him in for a couple of songs. I’m still working on things, so I haven’t made my mind up on [anything] yet. Whatever feels right at the time , that’s what I’ll do. I don’t plan it out before it’s done. It kind of takes on its own life, you know what I mean?! So I would say it’s rather early in the process, the album. It’s not like towards the end.”

Yngwie released a live album, “Spellbound Live In Tampa”, and a live DVD, “Spellbound Live In Orlando”, last summer. The two releases represent back-to-back Malmsteen shows.

The CD and DVD, both of which are named after Malmsteen’s latest studio album, 2012’s “Spellbound”,
