MISERY INDEX embark on European tour with Napalm Death & Rotten Sound

embark on European tour with Napalm Death & Rotten Sound

Death Metal outfit MISERY INDEX are about to embark on their previously announced European tour together with NAPALM DEATH and label mates ROTTEN SOUND. The tour will kick off at the Kulttempel in Oberhausen tonight and a full list of confirmed shows can be found below.

In celebration of the rampage, MISERY INDEX teamed up with Metal Hammer (UK) for the the release of a brief history/tour documentary about these masters of the death-grind! You can watch the documentary in full on ROCK-PIX MEDIA.

will be touring in support of their recently released album ‘Rituals of Power’. The artwork, which is created by Raphael Gabrio, and track details can be viewed below.

1. Universal Untruths (2:35)
2. Decline and Fall (4:36)
3. The Choir Invisible (4:26)
4. New Salem (3:24)
5. Hammering the Nails (3:46)
6. Rituals of Power (5:20)
7. They Always Come Back (5:08)
8. I Disavow (4:21)
9. Naysayer (2:26)

The band comment on the album: “‘Rituals of Power’ is a disavowal and warning against the consequences of our so-called ‘post-truth’ age. Each of the 9 songs revolves loosely around this theme, yet each track also stands very much on its own. As an album however, they are all brought to life as one ‘reanimated’ monster; it’s roughly 35 minutes of unhinged, yet cohesive, riff-driven aural ballistics. We were pissed off and on fire during both the writing and recording, and we think it shows in spades. We set out to write the best album we could, based on what we would want to hear first as fans of this music, and we could not be happier.”

Album line-up:
Jason Netherton: bass, vocals – Adam Jarvis: drums – Mark Kloeppel: guitar, vocals – Darin Morris: lead guitar

MISERY INDEX return furiously with their brand new album, ‘Rituals of Power’! With their sixth full-length, the American icons of hard hitting brutality display the strength of maturity grown out of the experience gained as a relentless touring machine. The general trend of their continuous evolution to incorporate less core elements and move towards classic death metal finds a new high water mark.

When their debut EP ‘Overthrow’ was recorded in 2001 by vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton (ex-DYING FETUS) together with (then) guitarist and vocalist Mike Harrison and drummer Kevin Talley (ex-DYING FETUS), MISERY INDEX immediately charted a course to explore and push the limits of Death Metal and Grindcore, drawing influence from bands like MORBID ANGEL, NAPALM DEATH, TERRORIZER, BOLT THROWER and ENTOMBED. The erstwhile project shifted to a full time band when guitarist Sparky Voyles (ex-DYING FETUS) joined.

In 2003, MISERY INDEX unleashed their first full-length ‘Retaliate’, to exceptional reviews and followed by numerous support tours and festivals in Europe and North America. After several line-up changes, second album ‘Discordia’ was released in 2006 with even more touring in its wake. Their third full-length, ‘Traitors’ (2008) reaped raving reactions from both critics and fans and saw the band on the road again until 2009. Then MISERY INDEX dropped ‘Heirs to Thievery’ (2010) like a bomb on the Death Metal masses, shattering all expectations. The album was both a commercial and critical success, elevating the band to headlining slots. During that year, long time guitarist Sparky Voyles was replaced by Darin Morris.

A string of shows and festivals around the globe followed and on the Munich date of ‘Full of Hate Tour’ alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE, BEHEMOTH and LEGION OF THE DAMNED, the band recorded their first live album. Released early 2013, ‘Live in Munich’ perfectly epitomized the rawness and ferocity that MISERY INDEX elevated onto a new level with their fifth full length “The Killing Gods” in 2014.

Now with “Rituals of Power”, revolving around the concept of “truth”, MISERY INDEX are back with nine crushing tracks which tackle how ‘truth’ has been constructed and molded throughout history as a means to uphold power, regimes and ideologies. Brace, hold tight and run for cover, the wrath of MISERY INDEX is upon us and they are more furious than they’ve ever been.

Inspired by 80’s thrash and horror movies and of course, old issues of Metal Forces and cheap beer, the mighty horror metal moshing machine F.K.Ü. are working on a new album called “1981”. The band decided to pay a special tribute to the year 1981, also known as the ultimate year of the slasher movie genre. In other words, the year that delivered a great deal of slashers that is considered the genres best, even today.

The first single, “Nightmares in a Damaged Brain”, will be released through Despotz Records September 22nd.

”Nightmares in a Damaged Brain is a straight to the point thrasher that pretty much sums up the vibe we were going for on this album. D-beat thrash and horror madness galore!”// F.K.Ü.

The 1981 album is already rumoured to be a horror experience on the same level as those old school slasher classics. So pop the popcorn, call for pizza and bring your friends. This twisted and demented world of knife wielding maniacs has only just started. Let the body count begin!

The idea with the album, inspired by Corpse Mania, Night School as well as the timeless classics Halloween II and Friday the 13th Part 2 is to take the listener back to the old days. Back when you and your friends went to the local video store to rent video cassettes and weren’t able to download your movies from the internet.

On top of this F.K.Ü. celebrate 30 years as a band this year, so the connection to the eighties is going to be very strong and celebrated all through this album campaign.

After signing a record deal with the Swedish record label Despotz Records, Larry, Pete, Pat and Emp entered The Overlook Studio in Gävle. “1981” is produced by F.K.Ü., recorded by William Blackmon, mixed by Lawrence Mackrory & Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Productions, mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering and with astonishing artwork by Tom Hodge – The Dude Designs.

Band History
Four young men started F.K.Ü. back in 1987 to pay tribute to their two main interests; horror movies from the 1980´s and thrash metal. But after just a handful of rehearsals, the band fell into a hiatus.

Ten years later, in 1997 a decision was made to give it another try and bring the monster back to life. The overwhelming response of the 20-song demo “Beware of the Evil Underwear” that was recorded in 1998, resulted in the album “Metal Moshing Mad”. This 22-track mosher showed the world that it is possible to have a good, friendly, but still violent time in the mosh pit. Classics like “Maniac”, “Halloween”, “Friday the 13th”, “Hellraiser” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” was covered on this epic horror themed album.

In 2004, the world was in desperate need for another dose of some patented Horror Thrash Metal signed F.K.Ü. and the album “Sometimes They Come Back… To Mosh” was released. The inspiration was once again from the thrash and horror movies of the 1980´s. Movies covered on this album are “Christine”, “Shockwaves”, “C.H.U.D”, “Maniac Cop”, “Motel Hell” and “The Fog”.

After a bunch of awesome shows, including a short but sweet west coast US tour, F.K.Ü. went back into the studio to make album number three. Come the summer of 2009 and the release of “Where Moshers Dwell”. An album filled with prime neck breaking, horror-inspired, sing-along thrash madness. Movies covered on the album are “Dead and Buried”, “The Return of The Living Dead”, “Creepshow”, “The Toolbox Murders”, “The Town That Dreaded Sundown”, and “The Exorcist”.

In 2010 and 2011 F.K.Ü. toured Sweden extensively and played at all major Swedish festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival, Metaltown, Getaway Rock Festival and House of Metal, to name a few. In 2013 the band returned with another blistering slab of their patented horror metal. The fourth album titled “4: Rise of the Mosh Mongers” released by Napalm Records sees F.K.Ü. fire on all 4 cylinders. Produced and mixed by the bands singer Larry Lethal, the album contains 17 tracks of pure thrashing bliss. Movies covered on the album are “Event Horizon”, “The Amityville Horror”, “Madman”, “Terror Train”, “Near Dark”, “The Boogey Man” and “Videodrome”.

Foul Body Autopsy Announce New EP ‘Perpetuated By Greed’

Foul Body Autopsy Announce New EP ‘Perpetuated By Greed’

One man UK extreme metal wrecking machine Tom Reynolds has been making quite a name for himself of late with his incessant live appearances up and down the UK and knack for marrying a plethora of extreme metal sounds into one. Now having completed his next Foul Body Autopsy record, an EP entitled Perpetuated By Greed, like all its predecessors Tom has a message to deliver, and again, just like its predecessors, the message is as subtle as a JCB driving up a village main street. In his own words, “The concept behind the new Foul Body Autopsy record is… Everything Is Completely Fucked!”.

Tom elaborates, “It’s a refection of how messed up the world is at the moment, and thanks to the right wing turn in politics and in the media a mood of fear and paranoia has taken hold. There are families drowning in the sea, running from the crossfire of blood thirsty extremist death cult Foul Body Autopsy3and a desperate amoral military dictatorship, and instead of trying to help there are governments doing everything in their power to stop refugees getting to safety. As well as that, we have national newspapers here giving people, and someone in particular, space in their rag to call these affected people cockroaches! We have a Prime Minister who says that anyone that opposes war is a “terrorist sympathiser” and if we look across the pond things are not that much better… a man that looks like a biological car crash is running for president and most of the things he says are completely false but because most of his followers don’t trust the media he can create his own insane reality and have thousands of people blindly agree with him. The future isn’t looking too great.”

Last year saw the release of So Close To Dehumanization, an EP which resonated with his vegan beliefs and explored the often ignored process of how modern societies demand for meat is actually fulfilled. Some countries may have certain laws in place to ease animal suffering, which is an inevitable result of our desire for meat produce, but the fact remains, animals are being bred and killed for consumption in industrial scale operations and do not live a natural life. A video was released for ‘So Close To Complete Dehumanization’, a video which received some backlash due to its disturbing content, albeit very real.

Recorded at The Parlour Recording Studio (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Evile) with producer Neil Haynes and featuring cover art from Coki Greenway, Perpetuated By Greed delves into environmental issues, and subjects on a broader scale in comparison to So Close To Dehumanization. The record features six tracks of blistering blackened death grind extreme metal, fast drumming, growls and pinpoint guitarwork.

MEGAHERZ Unveil Details For Upcoming EP “Erdwärts”!

Zombieland, the latest studio album by Germans MEGAHERZ, is still haunting our auditory canals, and the five piece has already been busy working on fresh shenanigans: “Look forward to the new MEGAHERZ shredfest!” The band announced their new EP Erdwärts – set to be releases on December 4th on Napalm Records!

There are four new and very varied songs on this EP: two of them feature pure riff-laden heaviness, mid-tempo classic one and a slow and broody track that will be the talk of the town. On top of that and just like with Götterdämmerung and Zombieland, two MEGAHERZ classics were re-recorded – fans can now enjoy new versions of faves including ‘Teufel‘ and ‘Jordan‘.

MEGAHERZ2Track listing:
1. Wer hat Angst vorm Schwarzen Mann?
2. Ist das verrückt?
3. Glorreiche Zeiten
4. Einsam
5. Teufel
6. Jordan

Lyric wise, fear is at the heart of it all: fear of the unknown and fear of a world that seems chaotic and out of control. It`s time to stop hiding and face those fears! ‘Glorreiche Zeiten` (‘Glorious times‘) on the other hand wishes strength to dreamers aiming to fulfill their biggest dreams. ‘Einsam‘ (‘Lonely‘) tells the story of the demise of a relationship with a twist: the one who leaves seems rather gleeful!

This is a wondrous mix and a mighty appetizer for the MEGAHERZ German tour in January 2016 – and something to shorten the wait for the band’s next album.

LiveReport-DEATHCRUSHER TOUR 2015-Trix Antwerpen.

London’s sludge rock ambassadors LIMB will have their new album.

I hope you’re ready to groove on the most apocalyptic dancefloor ever, because London’s sludge rock ambassadors LIMB will have their new album Terminal out this September, and this heavy and buzzing new record is going to make your day!

Produced by Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir), Terminal cranks up the sonics, mashes the grooves, and ups the filth quotient to truly corrosive levels. Fans of heavy-mongers such as Conan, The Sword or Torche will love this.

LIMB « Terminal » – Out September 11th on New Heavy Sounds
Stream new single ‘Dawn Raiders’ here

LIMB is a sludge foursome with a penchant for classic rock stomp, formed in a damp and cold London basement in the winter of 2011. Within a year, their self-recorded demo was picked up by underground metal and hardcore label Witch Hunter Records; soon after, the band joined the New Heavy Sounds roster. After two ferocious EPs – the “Gift of the Sun”, and a split with fellow Londoners Gurt – the band released their self-titled debut album in 2014, described as “a beast of record, stuffed with Earth-moving riffs and enough groove to bring a legion of followers to the band’s cause ». A UK tour with label mates Black Moth later, the band is now ready to unleash their follow-up, Terminal. Produced by Napalm Death’s collaborator Russ Russell, Terminal brings a new level of detail and depth to LIMB’s crushing assault. With their sound dubbed GoatSlade, they combine thick, heavy tones with punchy and nimble songwriting to bring together the best of retro fuzz sounds with modern metal.
