Italian Groove Thrash EXTREMA New Single ‘For The Loved And The Lost’ Off Upcoming Album “Headbanging Forever”

Long-running Italian groove thrash metallers EXTREMA are going to release their seventh studio album, “Headbanging Forever”, on May 10, 2019, via Rockshots Records/Universal Music.
Tommy Massara comments:

“It’s a 100% Metal Album that leaves the listeners breathless. The songs are well balanced, there’s a lot of double bass, tempo changes and screaming lead guitar solos like in the old days. The songwriting of the album reminds of something classic with a modern production.”
Today, the band reveals the first single “For The Loved And The Lost”. Listen to the brand new song.

Tiziano Spigno states:

“I’m really excited for “For the Loved and The Lost” being the first single taken from the new album, as it’s one of my favorite tracks. It is a tribute to the friends and the great artists who left us in the last years. The lyrics are full of quotes and I believe that fans will have fun trying to sort them out. The chorus takes inspiration from the Vikings prayer to Odin before the battle and I really hope this will become a great aggregation moment during the next shows, with all the fans raising their glasses of beer, paying tribute to all these terrific artists and their immortal art.”
The album will be available in CD Digipack Deluxe or Vinyl Gatefold Limited Colored Edition. Exclusive Pre-order at Rockshots Records Store here

For this album, the band enlisted Gustavo Sazes (MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, ANGRA, ICED EARTH, GUS G., AMARANTHE, a.o.) to create the album artwork.
Tommy commented on the cover, “We had a list of artists in mind with which we would like to work with, in the end, we decided for two. With one it didn’t work, with Gustavo, after some emails and some ideas exchange, we decided to leave him blank paper to let his own vision and concept-free, and the result is awesome! A cover with a strong impact.”

“Headbanging Forever” has been produced by Tommy Massara & Gabriele Ravaglia. Recorded and mixed by Gabriele Ravaglia & Maxx Canali at the Fear Studio in Italy, it has been mastered by Alberto Cutolo at Massive Arts studios in Milan.

1. The Call

Bio:
EXTREMA’s original line-up was established between 1985 and 1986 in Milan, Italy. In a very short time, the band led by guitars player Tommy Massara achieved a huge success. Tommy is the only remaining member of the original line-up, and over the years he also played the role of artistic and executive producer.
Hundreds of concerts made the band more and more close-knit and open towards a constant growth path, capable from the beginning of welcoming influences external to heavy metal, a consistent choice within an evolutionary framework which saw EXTREMA start from the rebellious attitude of MOTÖRHEAD to later incorporate the style of Californian thrash metal, a scene with which the band shared the utmost care for the technical side of music and a devastating presence on stage.
The band’s reputation as musicians and performers kept growing in a perpetual live context, with extensive tours and the participation to prestigious festivals with the likes of METALLICA, SLAYER, MOTÖRHEAD, and KORN, a.o.
Extraneous from the beginning to political and ideological implications of any kind, EXTREMA’s lyrics have always strived to alternate challenging and contemporary themes with lighter subjects, true to rock’n’roll form.
In May 2017 the band welcomed the new frontman Tiziano Spigno. Thanks to his entry, EXTREMA can finally release all the creativity repressed in recent years: a violent, direct and engaging approach which is – at the same time – also varied, courageous and experimental, resulting in the new album “Headbanging Forever”.

Earupt – Belgian groove progressive alternative metal band.

Earupt is a belgian groove progressive alternative metal band

Band; Walter : Rhythm and solo guitar – Tom : Rhythm guitar – Rick : Zang – Thijs : Drums

Shedding Skin
Bloodstain
Hooked On Life
Bare Knuckle Fight
Elements
Rebellion
Writings On The Wall
Broken Wings
Heatwave

Machine Head – 29 feb ’16 at 013.

Machine Head geeft vanavond in 013 namelijk een avondvullende show.

ATROPAS (CH) just signed a worldwide deal with Wormholedeath.

ATROPAS (CH) just signed a worldwide deal with Wormholedeath for

the release of their massive debut album produced by Jonathan Mazzeo at MathLab Recording Studio.

To celebrate this great event the band have unleashed their first official video for the track “Crimson Zero” which can be streamed exclusively through Wormholedeath’s Youtube Channel.

About ATROPAS

Started in the year of 2011 by founding members and guitarists Mahmoud Kattan and Philipp Tudor, they soon discovered bassist Kevin Steiger who was eager to join them. After having a little trouble finding a drummer, Sandro Chiaramonte, a close friend of Mahmoud, finally completed the four-man-band, and Atropas was born. The band name itself refers to one of the Moirais in greek mythology (a moira being one of the goddesses of destiny; originally, her name is Atropos) and was actually brought up by one of the first drummers the band had. A consensus was quickly reached concerning that name, the dark nature of the reference being something everyone found quite agreeable. After changing the last o for an a due to reasons of pronunciation and originality,

Atropas was good to go. From early on influenced by protagonists of many metal genres (such as August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Machine Head,  Pantera, Metallica, just to name a few of very many), they proceeded to play concerts and getting to make their name known. Since then, they shared the stage with national and international bands such as Nile, Skindred, Mycelia, Dreamshade and many more. Rather than being perceived as the typical metal band with the typical metal looks and image, Atropas wants to be known as four regular guys who happen to play metal. Their lyrics, being in accordance with that, center on things like their own observations of the world, personal struggles and conflicts in general. Especially Mahmoud, singer/guitarist and main songwriter of the band, wants people to come up with interpretations for their songs themselves. Currently, the band has their new full length record (title is to be announced soon) coming up and is signed under the Italian label “WormHoleDeath”, which has helped them getting to a new level. Atropas wants to reach bigger things and have an impact on the heavy music scene; Ambitious and aspiring, they’re willing to go great lengths for their goals.

Worm stated: “ATROPAS came in as a gift from God. They have proven to be one of the most hard working and focused bands that I have ever met during my life. The result of this cooperation with them and MathLab is absolutely unbelivable. This album sounds huge, tuneful, brutal and catchy at the same time but the main point is their rage. The rage that will explode with violence, the drive caused by urgency, the suffering through the melody, the brutality of of reality. This is ATROPAS and will blow you all away.”

MACHINE HEAD – “Now We Die”.

Robb Flynn as the only remaining original member. Album opener “Now We Die” is both epic and divisive.

The inclusion of a string quartet adds unnecessary polish to the welcome heavy metal explosion that is the rest of the song. Apart from the classical intrusion, this is a brilliant beginning to a heaping pile of thrash; with 12 intricate songs spanning 71 minutes, there’s a lot of music to digest. “Killers & Kings” is built around a chorus perfectly designed for a concert hall full of sweaty Head-cases to scream back at the band; bound to be a staple in the live set for years to come. Lyrically, “Night Of Long Knives” is about the Manson Family Murders of 1969; and the music is just as violent as the subject matter. “Sail Into The Black” is one of several songs that suffers from an over-extended introduction; in this case Gregorian-style chanting; it isn’t until the four-minute mark that it really kicks in, and Robb sings, “Burn My Eyes… we’ve come so far,” quite obviously an autobiographical statement harkening back to 1994. “Beneath The Silt” is a dynamic chugger that surprisingly has Flynn sounding rather soft vocally.MACHINE HEAD – Bloodstone & Diamonds

Robb more than makes up for this on “In Comes The Flood”, during which he spits pure vitriol: “I want to burn down Wall Street… I don’t give a fuck if I’m rich mother fucker!” Hate to say it, but “Damage Inside” could be deleted entirely as it’s nothing more than a forgettable interlude. “Game Over” is simpler than the lion’s share of material that came before it, but still excites. “Imaginal Cells” is an instrumental featuring samples from the audiobook, Spontaneous Evolution by Dr. Bruce Lipton and Steve Bhaerman; essentially a throw-away track. However, trim back the fat, and what’s left is top notch material. Lead guitarist Phil Demmel and drummer Dave McClain are superb in their performances.

Overall, the good parts are so damn good! It’s just that shadows of superfluous production lurk in almost every corner. That being said, there’s certainly no shortage of aggression on B&D, and it’s well worth buying.

Machine Head - Bloodstone & Diamonds
