Out Now! Japan’s SABER TIGER’s New Album “Obscure Diversity” via Sliptrick Records

Saber Tiger are: Takenori Shimoyama – Vocal | Akihito Kinoshita – Guitar
Yasuharu Tanaka – Guitar | Yasuhiro Mizuno – Drums | hibiki – Bass

For fans of DIO, Rainbow , Symphony X, Kamelot

Japanese progressive power metal group Saber Tiger’s new album “Obscure Diversity” is now out as of October 10th, 2018 via Sliptrick Records. The album demonstrates a band that has no intention of slowing down more than three and a half decades after their formation. If anything, their trademark blend of classy melodicism and fierce intensity is in better balance than ever.

Tracks like speed monsters “The Crowbar Case” and “Permanent Rage” feature every aspect that fans have come to expect from Saber Tiger; from the whirlwind guitar work of Akihito Kinoshita and Yasuharu Tanaka to Takenori Shimoyama’s passionate vocals and the intricate rhythms of drummer Yasuhiro Mizuno and bassist hibiki. “Beat Of The War Drums” is heavy and modern, while more atmospheric tracks like “The Shade Of Holy Light” and “The Forever Throne” show a surprisingly introspective side of the band without sacrificing any of the band’s renowned heaviness. “Distant Signals”, hibiki’s first songwriting contribution to Saber Tiger’s body of work, even manages to take the band to surprisingly progressive territories. Saber Tiger pulls all of these musical directions off with equal class and conviction, truly accounting for the diversity that they have promised in the album’s title.
Unlike their previous release “Bystander Effect”, which was mixed and mastered by founder Kinoshita himself, Saber Tiger sought international assistance for the sonic representation of “Obscure Diversity”.

The band was looking for a certain degree of clarity and power and found exactly that when they enlisted the help of Simone Mularoni, guitarist of Italian progressive power metal band DGM and owner of the Domination Studio in San Marino.

“Obscure Diversity” is now available on Sliptrick Records here, iTunes, Spotify and on all other major music platforms.

Music Video – “Permanent Rage”

Cinematic Metal Orchestra OPERUS New Lyric Video ‘Maya And The Wolf’; Toronto Date w/ Sonata Arctica

For fans of Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire

EP Stream – Opus I

Toronto, ON based OPERUS creates compositions of heavy classical influenced metal without restriction on creativity in expressing thoughts and emotions from the brainchild of band founder Oscar Rangel. Unleashing their four track debut EP ‘Opus I’ during November 2015, the band have posted a new lyric video for their track ‘Maya And The Wolf’, which can be viewed at the following link below.

“I believe ‘Maya & the Wolf ‘ is the most interesting song in the album, its sound is very classical, yet the story telling in the lyrics and the instrumentation gives it folkish undertones as well. This is the song we chose to produce a lyric video for because we believe this is the most “relatable” song in the EP and yet it still sounds heavy and it is clear that its part of a metal album. The instrumental part in the middle is one of the many “band solo” sections I have worked over the years using mainly the counterpoint composition technique, where all the instruments play different melodies at once to build up a very interesting sounding passage.” comments band founder Oscar Rangel.

About:
Toronto, ON based OPERUS creates compositions of heavy classical influenced metal without restriction on creativity in expressing thoughts and emotions from the brainchild of band founder Oscar Rangel.
“I have always been a huge fan of performing arts, not only music, but also theater, circus, and contemporary dance, some ballet, etc. I always wanted to combine as many of my influences as possible that includes many metal sub-genres and other disciplines, hence I started roaming towards the idea of “Opera”, but more in the classical sense, and less in the modern “metal opera” movement (Avantasia, Aina, and many more).” says Rangel.

First composing in Mexico before relocating to Toronto, ON, the solo project at the time went under the name ‘Masquerade of Opera’ and went on to record a demo in 2009 entitled “Winter Nightmare”, which was named after Rangel’s first cold winter of that year in Canada.
Fast forward five years later to 2014, Rangel who is also a former member of Annihilator and bassist for Mastery, changed the name of his project to OPERUS to better describe it and push towards creating a bigger production.
““Operus” Stems from the combination of two highly “classical” words: “Opus”, which was used in the previous times to mark musical creations (Opus 1 = creation 1). And “Opera” which is a form of theater where the script is performed singing.” says Rangel.
Recruiting Will Patterson (Vocals) (ex-Anurysm, ex-Exile), Robin Howe (Cello), Wojtek Sokolowski (Bass/Vocals) (Eclipse Eternal), Rob Holden (Guitar) (ex-Left Hand Creation) and Alan Madhavan (Drums) (ex-Nephelium) (now replaced by drummer J.J. Tartaglia (Skull Fist, Final Trigger)), the group recorded their first EP ‘Opus I’ with all instrumentation written by Rangel (Guitar/Vocals).

The debut EP ‘Opus I’ was unleashed during November 2015 and features four tracks of cinematic themes of powerful metal to fill fans mind with images and stories with a sound based on lyrics from philosophical topics such as what it means to be human and alive in a world full of violence, greed plus our evolution as a species.
“We felt these tracks display the most of what we sound like. We wanted our debut EP to portrait as much of the textures and colours we put in our music. Plus “Opus I” as it states our first creation is an “introduction letter” for everyone to know who we are, we made it all ourselves and now that we have something to show we are working on a bigger project.” comments Rangel.

With the completion of their EP, Rangel has several albums worth of finished material ready to go for their debut full length that they plan to record later this year to add to their performance that goes beyond a music show or a metal gig, but a full on metal orchestrated experience.

Max Pie band new Lyrics video “Promised Land” from Odd Memories Album.

New work, New Lyrics video from Max Pie band  called “Promised Land”  from Odd Memories Album.

The brand new album from the Metal Band from Belgium. This third album contains 10 epic songs and more than one hour of pure power and progressive heavy metal music !max pie cover_odd

For those that live for the robust compositions of progressive metal, Max Pie should spark some interest.  Their new album, Odd Memories, is about to hit store shelves and digital libraries. It leans a bit to the power metal side of the spectrum.  So, it is progressive metal that makes you feel good when you are done hearing it.  The good thing though, is that the album is a bit more diverse than just odd time signatures and power metal, sing along choruses.  Promised Land is a great example of a song that makes you want to sing with the band, and sing it in the shower at the top of your lungs, but Cyber Junkie has a lot more chunk and heavy metal riffing.

While Love Hurts is more progressive, Hold On is more ballad-like.  Again, giving the album a bit more balance.  Sometimes listening to progressive music can wear a listener down due to its complexities, but Max Pie does a good job of easing up a bit here and there to let your brain relax.  Overall, Odd Memories is a well-produced, great sounding album.  Musically, Max Pie has taken the extra steps to ensure 62 minutes of music will reward you, not punish you. It’s a solid third effort from the band.

kamelot020-1

It’s time to step into the cinematic, epic and emotionally dynamic world of HAVEN. The new album features all the signature elements of KAMELOT but the band steps out to add new and modern elements along with bringing some amazing emotions that harken to the band’s earlier days. KAMELOT’s artsy music is chock full of symbolism relating to how the band feels about the world and the current state of civilization.

The HAVEN album has an undertone of a world going insane. There is a grey cloud that is forming over our world. We are here to find that silver lining with an album that is both dark and melancholy yet uplifting and giving the listener a HAVEN in a world gone mad. We are really proud of the song elements and diversity on HAVENadds guitarist Thomas Youngblood. “The songs run the gambit of dark and melancholy to uplifting and melodic elements.” states vocalist Tommy Karevik.

Haven has an aggressive edge to it that is the representation of the band as The Revolutionary Change in the storyline,” Kamelot’s Oliver Palotai tells us.

Produced by acclaimed music producer Sascha Paeth and mastered by Jacob Hansen, HAVEN is a massive album that is sure to please critics and fans alike. Additional guests include Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Troy Donockley (Nightwish) and Charlotte Wessels (Delain). The breath-taking cover and artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann and additional art/layout was done by Gustavo Sazes.kamelot033-1

KAMELOT Signs to Napalm Records!.

kamelot2013

Symphonic Metal Masters KAMELOT entered the studio in mid 2014

to begin recording their follow-up to the highly acclaimed chart topping album Silverthorn. The new album will make KAMELOT history as it will be released worldwide ( excl. Asia ) on Napalm Records/Universal and Napalm Records/ADA-Warner as an exclusive licensing deal through the band’s KAMELOT MUSIC LLC this April/May 2015. In support of this highly anticipated release, KAMELOT will hit the road starting in March for select UK shows, followed by a massive North America Tour this Spring, with special guests Dragonforce (UK). Select Summer Festivals will follow and the band returns to Europe in September/October for their biggest headliner tour to date.

“We are extremely excited about having a growing and hungry independent label like Napalm with the power of major distribution that we will get with Universal and ADA Warner.” states KAMELOT founder and guitarist Thomas Youngblood

Thomas Caser, Vice President of Napalm Records:

“Being a fan of the band since the band’s Epica release it has always been a dream for me to work with KAMELOT! Finally this dream has come true and we at Napalm Records are delighted and honoured to announce this signing. I foresee a bright future and we will spare no effort to bring the band to where they deserve to be  – the top! Watch out for the band’s monumental new album this spring and witness KAMELOT & Napalm Records conquering the world in 2015!”

KAMELOT have held their own, very special position in the world of rock and heavy music: their elaborate melodic metal has always opened itself in a remarkably clever way to like-minded styles, integrating progressive elements as well as cross-references to doom/gothic metal and classical music, which have allowed their songs to define their own genre. Two of their most successful releases in particular, namely the albums Karma (2001) and The Black Halo (2005), are prime examples of KAMELOT’s multi-layered approach, intensity and outstanding musicality. Their last effort Silverthorn, saw the band raise this demanding standard even higher, because thealbum stands the test of time as a truemasterpiece of grand gestures, gritty melodies and haunting atmospheres, showcasing KAMELOT at their finest.
