Canadian 90’s Rockers SVEN GALI 25th Anniversary Ontario Tour + New Single “Kill The Lies”

For fans of Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, Skid Row (old records), Breaking Benjamin (new single)

Formed in 1987 in Hamilton and Niagara Falls, Ontario, SVEN GALI brought the 80’s and 90’s hard rock/metal wave home to Canada. They delivered their high-energy live show from St. Johns to Victoria, and across the USA and Europe for the next 9 years.
Twenty-five years after their self-titled debut album went Gold (50,000 units) in Canada, they are back with a monster new song called “Kill The Lies” recorded with legendary producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The Horizon). Released on June 10th, 2018 the new track is no throwback to the 90’s, but a heavy, modern rock song that doesn’t look back. A part of the proceeds from the sale of the single will go to support cancer research in the name of founding guitar player Dee Cernile. Dee passed away from cancer in 2012.

Lyric Video – Kill The Lies Here

SVEN GALI built a name fast with their live shows; drawing growing crowds on the Canadian and US circuit while building their songwriting chops and a wild reputation. David Bendeth signed the band to BMG Music Canada in 1991 and produced the self-titled debut, released in 1992.
The album included singles and videos for “Under The Influence”, “Tie Dyed Skies”, “In My Garden”, and the ballad, “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” (#6 CanCon song of 1993). It included a cover of Teenage Head’s “Disgusteen” featuring guest vocals by Frankie Venom. The video for “Under the Influence” won the MuchMusic Best Metal Video award in 1993.

The band was nominated for Hard Rock Album of the Year and Most Promising Band at the 1993 Juno Awards. Sven Gali went gold in Canada that year selling over 50,000 units.
SVEN GALI toured extensively throughout Canada and the USA, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and the UK, headlining and on the bill with acts including April Wine, Foreigner, Candlebox, Pearl Jam and Def Leppard.

Their follow up album, Inwire (1995), recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, was produced by Kelly Grey (Candlebox, Brother Kane, Dokken) and featured guest musicians Christopher Thorn of Blind Melon, and Candlebox’s Kevin Martin and Scott Mercado.

The band toured for the next year before disbanding in 1996 to now reform in 2018.

Finnish old school heavy metal band Wrestling released a new music video about serial killer artist!

Line-up: Tommi Saha (voc) –  Risto Nyman (gtr) –  Janne Kela (d.) –  Pekka Moilanen (gtr) –  Riku Rousu (b, voc)

Finnish old school heavy metal band Wrestling released a new music video about serial killer artist!

WRESTLING is an old school heavy metal band from Oulu, Finland and their debut album RIDE ON FREAKS is released via Inverse Records on September 14th 2018. The album pays homage to the classic heavy metal style of the 80’s, and you can clearly hear the influence of bands like Accept or Ozzy Osbourne in Wrestling’s music. But Wrestling is not just a tribute band.

On the contrary they are spicing up their soup with various different styles. You can find clues of punk at one end and even some pure pop melodies at the other. The album is quite diverse in style and it’s also been recorded in a traditional fashion that leaves lots of room for the musicians to create the atmosphere they are after. So Wrestling is definitely not math metal. Or well… perhaps short term math metal at most.

The band released a new single from the upcoming album “Surreal Killer”.
Watch the music video here

Band comment:
“SURREAL KILLER shows us Wrestling at its most vicious mood. This speed metal influenced tune tells us a story of a serial killer artist, whose simple mission is… well, to make art out of death.”

Track list
01. Let’s Get Born
02. Surreal Killer
03. Venom Makes Me Stronger
04. Kitsch In America
05. Drunk And Alone
06. Wrestlemania VI
07. Beyond The Limits
08. Feels Like Midnight
09. Driving All Night
10. The Solution To All Your Problems
11. See Delight

The album was recorded on Anvil Road Studio and it is mixed and mastered by Harri Eksymä (Earmore Studios)

Release ‘Instructions To Dominate’ Lyric Video

Greek heavy metal band, Null’o’zero, have released a new lyric video for ‘Instructions To Dominate’, it’s the title track of their new album ‘Instructions To Dominate’, due out on July 13th, via ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records. The lyric video was made by Mitsos Tsou at Brutus Studios. The video can be viewed here

‘Instructions To Dominate‘ is the 2nd Official album by Null’o’zero, an album that was written in a very difficult period for the band. This is the reason why the album is so aggressive and driven by emotion – anger, grief, pain, frustration – but it also gives hope to take courage to stand with our heads held high.
It’s a natural evolution of the first album ‘The Enemy Within‘, preserving the band’s unique character. Solid rhythm section, diverse riffs, outrageous solos and imposing vocals blend to an intriguing balance between melody and aggression.

Track listing:
1. Instructions To Dominate
2. The Last One
3. My Last Disguise
4. Imprisoned In The Dark
5. Decline The Legacy
6. Face Down The World
7. Better Off Dead
8. Until The End Of Life
9. Trapped In A Maze
10. Hate

The album can pre-ordered here

The album was engineerd, produced by Null’o’zero & Thimios Krikos (InnerWish, ex-Deviner), mixed by Thimios Krikos (InnerWish, ex-Deviner) & Nikos Iosifidis, engineerd by Fotis Benardo (SixforNine, ex-Septic Flesh), additional engineering by Nikos ‘HULK’ Iosifidis & Akis Pastras and mastered by Peter In de Betou at Tailor Made Production Sweden (Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Evil, Firewind, Havok). The album artwork was made by Giannis Nakos – Remedy Art Design.
Guest Appearances by Thimios Krikos (Last Solo ‘Until the end of life’) and George Georgiou (Piano ‘Until the end of life’).

Null’o’zero, have recently released a music video for ‘The Last One‘:

Null’o’zero was formed in 2012 in Athens/Greece. The general idea was to play contemporary aggressive music but also with technical and melodical riffs, main influences are Megadeth, Death, Symphony X, Metallica, etc.

Rockshots Records: Out Now! In North America Italian Symphonic Power Metal MaterDea New Album “Pyaneta”

For fans of Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Omnia, Faun

MaterDea is one of the most known and recognizable metal bands in Italy coming out of the pagan and Celtic scene. Lyric Video – “Neverland”

Following the direction started with “A Rose for Egeria”, this new record is a further step forward into the melding of metal and Celtic music, in the personal style that MaterDea’s fans will acknowledge and love once more. It is a powerful symphony where all the instruments and the voices join the sounds of nature, painting new grandiose landscapes enriched by colors and sophisticated arrangements. The melodies reveal themselves along with the sumptuous guitar riffs, a powerful rhythmic session and the twist of strings and orchestration, allowing the listener to be carried away in a dimension full of energy, beauty and hope by these magical tales.
The band describes “Pyaneta”:

“In this new album the stories are inspired by the deep interconnection that exists between every living thing and the largest sentient organism that hosts us, our planet Earth. It is an exhortation to the awareness of the environmental danger, a cry of hope for its future and a message of love for life in its gorgeous wholeness.”
MaterDea goes to great lengths to ensure that their listeners can be thrust away from reality and thrown into a fantastical world full of enchantment and magic and “Pyaneta”, their fifth album promises to do just that. Citing influences such as Genesis, Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin, the band creates a gentle yet powerful type of metal with various classical overtones. With a desire to create powerful, intense, emotional music that features pantheistic themes the 7 classically trained Italian musicians paint a rich fantasy world for their listeners. To date they have released four full lengths, “Below the Mists, Above the Brambles” (2009), “Satyricon” (2011), “A Rose for Egeria” (2014) and “The Goddess’ Chants” (2016).

Nu-‐metal  is  back  with  a  vengeance.  Just  last  year  Korn  conquered  the  Alcatraz  prison  grounds  on  the   first  sold  out  day  of  the  festival’s  ten-‐year  history.  It  was  an  unforgettable  experience  for  10,000   visitors  with  a  vintage  performance  by  Jonathan  Davis  &  Co  to  round  off  the  day’s  festivities.  This   year  we’re  welcoming  Limp  Bizkit,  another  nu-‐metal  dinosaur  that  defies  the  notion  that  the  genre   was  strictly  a  turn-‐of-‐the-‐millennium  phenomenon.

They  couldn’t  be  more  right,  of  course.  In  addition  to  the  (renewed)  success  of  bands  like  Slipknot,   System  of  a  Down  or  Papa  Roach  there’s  also  the  influence  the  genre  has  had  on  up-‐and-‐coming   bands  such  as  Bring  Me  the  Horizon,  While  She  Sleeps  or  Bury  Tomorrow.  Nu-‐metal  put  an  end  to  the   pigeonholing  that  used  to  be  rampant  in  the  metal  scene.  Slightly  older  metalheads  have  evolved   with  the  times  and  now  check  out  the  young  bands  their  progeny  are  into;  conversely,  it’s  rewarding   for  metal  moms  and  dads  when  their  children  show  their  appreciation  for  the  metal  they  grew  up   with.  More  and  more,  the  new  generation  is  finding  its  way  to  concerts  of  AC/DC,  Guns  N’  Roses,   Judas  Priest,  Metallica,  Iron  Maiden  or  Slayer.

As  a  result,  the  fusion  of  rap  and  rock/metal  is  no   longer  an  issue  nowadays.  Genre  boundaries  have  lost  their  relevance  and  that’s  a  good  thing.     Limp  Bizkit  never  bothered  with  genre  boundaries.  In  1999  the  band  around  singer  Fred  Durst   dropped  a  bombshell  with  their  sophomore  album  ‘Significant  Other’,  which  included  hits  like   ‘Nookie’.

Meanwhile  the  Florida  sons  have  sold  upwards  of  50  million  albums  and  the  Spotify  rankings   tell  us  that  they  remain  extremely  popular  today.  They  are  also  a  formidable  live  act  and  in  recent   years  Limp  Bizkit  has  silenced  the  critics  with  killer  sets.   Consisting  of  drummer  John  Otto,  bassist  Sam  Rivers,  DJ  Lethal,  eccentric  master  guitarist  Wes   Borland  and  controversial  frontman  Fred  Durst,  the  band  has  been  serving  up  an  explosive  cocktail  of   groovy  riffs  and  blistering  raps  that  leaves  no  one  untouched.  Hold  on  to  your  hats  because  hits  like   ‘My  Way’,  ‘Rollin’’,  ‘My  Generation’,  ‘Nookie’,  ‘Break  Stuff’,  ‘Take  a  Look  Around’,  the  George   Michael-‐cover  ‘Faith’  and  ‘Behind  Blue  Eyes’  –  a  The  Who  cover  of  course  –  will  shake  the  Alcatraz   prison  walls  to  their  foundations.  If  only  we  could  fly!

Day  schedule:

Friday:  Status  Quo,  Dee  Snider,  Brides  Of  Lucifer,  Ross  The  Boss,  Diablo  Blvd.,  The  Quill,  Bizkit  Park,   Amorphis,  Venom  Inc.,  Suicidal  Angels,  Atomic  Bitchwax,  Pro-‐Pain,  Bark

Saturday:  Limp  Bizkit,  Dimmu  Borgir,  Epica,  Phil  Campbell  And  The  Bastard  Sons,  Mr.  Big,  Battle   Beast,  Armored  Saint,  Fozzy,  Ufomammut,  Satyricon,  DevilDriver,  Municipal  Waste,  Solstafir,   Orange  Goblin,  Crisix,  Act  Of  Defiance

Sunday:  Helloween  “Pumpkins  United”,  In  Flames,  Behemoth,  Alestorm,  Sepultura,  Inglorious,   Orden  Ogan,  Ministry,  Cannibal  Corpse,  The  Black  Dahlia  Murder,  Alcest,  Primordial,  Exhorder,   Pestilence,  Gruesome
