BLACK MIRRORS

– New Album “Look Into The Black Mirror” now available via Haulix!

Hey Rock-Pix readers, here comes the brandnew BLACK MIRRORS debut full length album LOOK INTO THE BLACK MIRROR for you.

The mixture of garage rock, blues rock and screaming stoner parts already made their 2017 EP “Funky Queen” to a great success. Now the debut album is the next step in their young career and the BLACK MIRRORS managed to create an unique style, led by Marcella Di Troias authentic singing voice.

Funky Queen, the 2017 debut EP by rock newcomers Black Mirrors melted speakers everywhere: and yet the Belgian fourpiece was simply warming up for bigger things to come. Look Into The Black Mirror is a prime example of all the wonderful stuff that can happen when you sell your soul to snotty garage rock, blues, psychedelia and stoner rock!

The beautifully unchained Marcella Di Troia sings, screams, croons and whispers on otherworldy ballads like ‘‘Moonstone‘ and over the danceable grooves of ‘Lay My Burden Down‘ – and the band keeps the hypnotic beats and thunderous riff walls coming. The Belgian crew succeeds at crisp Josh Homme-style stompers like ‘Günther Kimmich‘ as easily as they pull off a monolithic jam like album closer ‘Burning Warriors‘. These guys and gal will be HUGE!

Croatian Heavy Power Metal SAGE – “Anno Domini 1573”

Hey Rock-Pix readers,  Hope you’re having a great week!

– SAGE –

Here’s the next promo from Rockshots Records. I present to you Croatia’s Heavy Power Metal force SAGE and their debut album “Anno Domini 1573” due out on September 21st.

The album is for fans of Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Hammerfall.

Considering that many bands cover broad topics and well-known historical events, their debut album is a concept album that follows the events of the Peasants’ Revolt in 1573. With primary themes of overcoming oppression, the album is both a look into Croatia’s past and commentary of what is, to this day, a relevant topic. Accompanying the album will be 11 music videos that are actually a film about the event.

SAGE delivers a mix of heavy, powerful and progressive metal, which the band blends to forge a unique but recognizable sound. Comprised of six passionate musicians, Sage is on a mission to create interesting music for their fans while paying homage to their country’s history. A collaborative effort between Davor Bušljeta (vocals), Enio Vuceta (guitar and backing vocals), Marko Karacic (bass), Branimir Habek (guitar and backing vocals), Andrej Božic (keyboards and backing vocals), and Goran Mikulek (drums) they combine their experiences and knowledge in an original way.

ACE MAFIA feat. Richie Faulkner (Judas Priest) Announce ‘Ace Mafia’ EP Release For September

ACE MAFIA is:

ACE MAFIA

feat. Richie Faulkner (Judas Priest) Announce ‘Ace Mafia’ EP Release For September

UK hard rock band, ACE MAFIA, have announced the release of their new EP ‘Ace Mafia’ on September 15th, 2018. The EP featuring Richie Faulkner on lead n rhythm guitars before leaving Ace Mafia to join Judas Priest. The incredible video and single for “Snakes ‘nʼ Ladders” is out now and can be viewed here…

The EP was mixed and mastered by Phil Kinman, all music recorded and written by Ace Mafia, Bruna Agra (former drummer), Richie Faulkner (former Lead guitarist), Sam Gharbaoui (K. Ghibli’s brother).

The EP will be officially launched on 29/09/18 at the ‘Big Redʼ, one of Londonʼs premier hard rock venues.

After a meeting in January 2018, the band felt that the time was right to once again bring Ace Mafiaʼs brand of heavy, grungy rock to the masses and reformed with a renewed vigour and intensity!
The history of Ace Mafia:
After arriving in London from Argentina in 2002, Geos Letona met Richie Faulkner via the Camden-based Hard Rock and Metal institution, “Metalworks” – rock covers band who have performed in London for over 15 years.

The EP will be officially launched on 29/09/18 at the ‘Big Redʼ, one of Londonʼs premier hard rock venues.
Tracklist:
1. Snakes ‘n’ Ladders
2. Face To Face
3. Stop Loss
4. Breathlessness

Geos, with Richie on board, begin to lay down some demos, but struggled to find the right voice to complement their sound. Some time passed before Geos was introduced to another local musician, Bruno ‘The Cat’ Agra. (drummer/producer), in 2007. Bruno agreed to engineer and produce Geosʼ album, but after hearing the initial ideas, was impressed enough to agree to join the band as drummer!

Geos had been friends with Kay Ghibli for a few years by this stage, and after being blown away by his incredible voice and delivery, convinced him to join…Ace Mafia was officially born!

Their debut album, “Vicious Circle” was independently released in 2009, however, due to touring commitments (with Lauren Harris) Richie could not fully commit to the project, and guitarist Ben Lundy was recruited as a replacement. With Richieʼs schedule later clearing, he returned to the band and Ace Mafia toured throughout 2010 as a 5-piece, having grown fond of Ben and his exceptional tea-making skills.

The band recruited the highly versatile and sought – after Jerry Sadowski in 2011 after Bruno emigrated, however, the band went on a temporary hiatus after Richie Faulkner landed his dream gig with the legendary Judas Priest!

80’s Thrashers INFRARED Premiere Video “Father of Lies”
New Album “Saviours” Out Now!
Ottawa Show Date Venom Inc. (Sept 3)

For fans of a mix of the Big 4, Testament, Exodus, Metal Church, SOD

Making an impact on the Canadian’s 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED returned this year to cement and carry on their own legacy with their new album “Saviours” featuring all new music to follow their EP “No Peace”, which featured tracks all written in the 80’s and only recently heard by fans in 2016. Featuring eight brand new tracks, “Saviours” is thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight, which is clearly evident in the band’s new video “Father of Lies” being premiered on Decibel Magazine.

Vocalist Armin Kamal comments on the track:

“Father of Lies – Is the most layered song on Infrared’s “Saviours” album. It’s first three verses are pulled directly from the Bible which describes the Father of Lies (Satan), but the song moves to show the abuses of power from the clergy against its own practitioners, mainly children, in such an evil manner that it is clear they are no better than the father of lies they preach against. So here we have a group of people portraying themselves as saviours all while living complete lies and spewing lies in an effort to conceal and satisfy their sick desires.”

Check out the new video “Father of Lies”

Kamal also adds about the new album:

“Infrared is extremely excited to release our sophomore album “Saviours”. This has been in the works for about 2 years now and is something we are very proud of. “Saviours” has fulfilled a goal of ours to create some brand new music the way we know how, with an old school 80s thrash feel along with a contemporary sound that encompasses our influences beyond the 80s.
While not explicitly a concept album, the album is heavily themed on the idea of false “Saviours” who claim to do good for others but are really self serving in their intentions. We like to inspire independent thought and a cautious view of the intentions of those who promote themselves as leaders. This message has been captured with 8 brand new songs that highlight the diversity in which this band makes music. While all songs stay true to our roots, they each offer a piece of what Infrared has to offer our fans. From fast and thrashy to melodic and dramatic, “Saviours” delivers a punch from start to finish.”

“Saviours” is available for download and stream on InfraredMetal.ca, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Bandcamp, CD Baby and all other major online retailers.

Show Dates:
Sept 3 – Ottawa, ON – Mavericks – info w/ Venom Inc., Metalfier, Mortor
